Wayne Mardell

Wayne Mardell is an Australian children’s book author. He grew up in South Australia, which is where he lives to this day with his amazingly supportive (and patient) wife and their two wonderful children, the inspirations for many of his books.

When he’s not writing children’s books, he spends his days teaching high school students about enterprise and the “abstract science of number, quantity, and space” (mathematics).

Wayne is also a sports fan, but particularly loves a good game of table tennis!

Wayne writes highly relatable books, largely based on true stories. His debut children's picture book, You WILL NOT poop in my car!, is a hilarious tale that follows the adventures of a family on a road trip.

Wayne's latest children's book, Pete's First parkrun, captures the essence of a clueless parkrunner’s first time at a parkrun.
