About the illustrator and author Cynthia A. Starr.
Cynthia lives and works in North suburbs outside the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She started drawing at a very early age that caught her second grade teacher‘s attention. Her teacher applied for Cynthia to study art with the Tam O‘Shanter and Palette art program run by Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh. Cynthia spent 5 years wandering around the Musuem drawing and painting the exhibits and attending the weekly Saturday lessons.
Cynthia studied studio arts at Ohio University and the University of Pittsburgh.
She loves drawing and working digitally on her ipad with her apple pencil. Her subjects have been whimsical animal characters, flowers, and landscapes. Her favorite activities include reading children picture books, hiking, kayaking and drawing.
Children’s books are her favorite for their beautiful illustrations and entertaining stories. She hopes to bring joy to her audiences through her artwork and stories.
