Erica Abbett

Erica Abbett is a teacher-turned-author determined to reignite a passion for the classics.

Her SAT vocabulary novels are as beloved by students as they are by parents (not an easy feat when it comes to SAT prep!). But then again, most SAT prep doesn't feature a delightful mixture of action, adventure, and ancient Egypt. "Ahead of Her Time: An SAT Vocabulary Novel" was published in 2019, followed by "Siena Saint James Is Not a Spy" in 2023.

Abbett's most recent project has been annotating classic novels, wherein she adds definitions and explanations to the bottom of each page. You can read her fully-annotated editions of nearly a dozen novels, from The Iliad to Jane Eyre and The Great Gatsby. Though lesser-known, her favorite is "A Room With a View."
