James Wally Brewster

Ambassador James (Wally) Brewster is the former United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic. He and his husband, author Bob J. Satawake ( Breaking Protocol) are the only LGBTQ couple to serve the top position in an Embassy in the Western Hemisphere. One of the nations top business and political leaders, Ambassador Brewster was named as Foreign Policy magazines 100 Global Thinkers, Out 100 and many other international awards for his advocacy for human rights and diplomatic successes. He is currently CEO of Insignias Global and Patino, Brewster & Partners. His firms are two of the top political and brand development firms supporting top CEO's, Presidents and Prime Ministers across the globe. Most recently he was a policy advisor for the Biden campaign and is still a significant leader in the Democratic Party. He speaks across the globe on issues impacting democracy and human rights in addition to being an effective negotiator. Ambassador Brewster is an advisor to the Atlantic Council, NDI and other key Think Tanks.
