I have had this story in my head for a long time. Even though a boy or girl would enjoy it, I guess I was waiting for a little girl after being blessed with two boys. I've decided not to wait for a granddaughter and share this story now that I have found the perfect illustrator right here in my home town, Waupaca, Wisconsin.
My family homesteaded here back in 1852 and I'm the sixth generation on our farm as well as working full time. This story about a Princess and her beautiful kingdom has a great underlying message about respect and, you guessed it, poison Ivy.
My friend's son, Carl Anderson, has always wanted to illustrate a book. He is so talented and I am lucky to have him agree to working with me on this book project. He brought my story to life in such a fun and colorful way. Together we both saw our dreams come true.
