Author Thomas Inch grew up dirt poor in a small town in Iowa. Food was in short supply. Some mornings he and his brothers and sisters would wake up to find paper bags full of groceries left overnight at their front door by an anonymous benefactor. The kids ate buttered bread and baked bean sandwiches and foraged the neighborhood fruit trees for pears, apples, peaches and cherries. During his boyhood Thomas Inch mowed lawns, pumped well water for an elderly neighbor lady and maintained a paper route, spending the earnings on food and clothing. Suffice it to say, circumstances peaked his interest in food. Simply put, the boy grew up to be an unabashed foodie.
As simple as the sea is salt, Thomas Inch is a burger enthusiast and amateur chef who enjoys researching and experimenting with burger variations in his modestly well-appointed kitchen.
