Kathy Strauss

Kathy Strauss is an artist, photographer, author, and creative educator with more than 40 years of experience in the creative industry. A self-described Creationeer, she brings imagination and heart to every endeavor, blending photography, mixed media, and words to create meaningful visual stories. Her work is rooted in the belief that creativity is a powerful force for connection, healing, and transformation.

As the founder of ImageWerks and co-founder of Vision Arts Gallery and Vision Arts Academy, Kathy has dedicated her career to helping others see differently—both through the lens of a camera and through the lens of their own lives. She is a professional photographer specializing in personal branding, headshots, events, family portraits, and fine art photography, known for capturing not just images, but energy, emotion, and authenticity. Her commercial clients receive personalized visual libraries that reflect their unique identity, while families walk away with timeless, joy-filled memories.

As a Creative Frequency coach and workshop facilitator, Kathy teaches creative programs for both individuals and teambuilding experiences, guiding youth, adults, and corporate teams in reconnecting with their creative voice, building confidence, and exploring new ways of seeing and being. Her teaching blends design principles, visual storytelling, and emotional color theory to support personal growth and self-expression.

Kathy is an accomplished mixed-media artist and international best-selling author of Kaleidoscope: Redesigning Your Life, a transformative book that invites readers to embrace change as a creative process—where even life’s broken pieces can be reassembled into something meaningful and beautiful. She has also published interactive, creativity-centered books including Coloring Your Spirit, 52 Weeks of Gratitude, and Positive Spirit, each designed to inspire reflection, mindfulness, and intentional living.

Her work—both visual and written—encourages people to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and rediscover the power of their own creativity. Through her art, writing, workshops, and speaking, Kathy empowers others to trust their perspective and create lives filled with purpose, color, and possibility.

Kathy was a founding artist at the Workhouse Arts Center and served as President of the Arches Gallery Artists in Lorton, Virginia. She currently exhibits her work in several local galleries in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and serves on multiple nonprofit boards. She is an ambassador for the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of Leadership Grand Strand (Class 42) and Leadership Prince William (Class of 2010).
