Bill Fix

Bill Fix, known as “The People Pastor,” loves Jesus, loves people, and loves helping people advance in their faith. A gifted teacher and encourager, he has spent his life helping others discover truth, find hope, and take the next step in their spiritual journey.

Bill and his family have traveled widely as magicians, puppeteers, and ventriloquists, performing and leading illusion and puppet teams for audiences of all kinds, from mega churches to university campuses. One of his favorite memories is sharing the big stage with his family at the Fellowship of Christian Magicians.

A compassionate pastor and trusted guide, Bill is often called upon to officiate funerals and help families through some of life’s hardest moments. He conducts more than sixty funerals each year and has developed a practical, thoughtful system for planning and leading memorial services, which he shares in Memorials to Remember.

Bill began his ministry as a children’s pastor and has written several children’s books based on true stories from his own childhood, including Daddy Can I Go Fishing, The Yellow One-Eyed Monster, The Day My Fishing Pole Got Away, and Water-Fight Fun with Family. He has also written articles, blog posts, and books designed to encourage and strengthen readers of all ages.

His memoir, The Butterscotch Story, reflects on more than 36 years of ministry with his wife, Dottie, and uses the story of his dog Butterscotch as a metaphor for life’s wanderings and the importance of keeping our focus on Jesus.

Bill holds a Th.D., has served as an adjunct professor, and has been active in community leadership through boards, committees, task forces, and coalitions. He has also been honored to offer invocations at major civic and community events throughout Wayne County, including at Ford Field.
