Deborah Beddoe and her husband David are the authors of The Heart of Recovery: How Compassion and Community Offer Hope in the Wake of Addiction.
Inspired by her work telling stories for nonprofit ministries and organizations, Deb began writing about her own family's experience with addiction in 2011. For 15 years, Dave struggled with a prescription opioid abuse and addiction that devastated their young family. In 2019, he is 12 years clean, has led recovery ministry for nearly a decade, and is now a pastor.
The Beddoes still live and work in the small town outside Seattle where their life came apart years ago and thrive in the struggles and joys of mending lives in community.
