William Nelligan

William was raised on a farm in Ireland and educated at University College Cork from 1987-1990, where he obtained a Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics. Looking back, William wonders why he didn’t study English and Literature.

He began studying writing at the Folkuniversity in Stockholm in 2012, and the Writer’s Bureau UK in 2015. Father to four boys, William is no stranger to telling bedtime stories. His debut novel, Eoghan and The Talking Animals, features childhood memories growing up on his father’s farm, combined with his own children’s experiences visiting their grandfather’s farm every summer. This debut novel is a touching story in a perfect rural setting in Limerick, where a young boy’s gift of talking with the animals brings him endless joy, and endless problems. His latest novel, Eoghan and The Treasure of Termonfeckin, takes the reader to a quaint beachside village where Eoghan's communication with a local crab takes six young cousins on a treasure hunt.
