Griggs

Dr. Ophelia G. Griggs is a native of Martinsville, Virginia. She attended Henry County Public Schools. She received her bachelor’s degree from Norfolk State University in Sociology 1986, a master’s degree in Community and College Counseling from Longwood University in 2004, and a doctorate degree in Education with a specialization in leadership and management from Capella University in August 2016. “The Angel Came” is her first published book. It gives voice to two beloved family members who are deceased, gives insight about who she is, and her religious perceptions as well as demonstrates her strong faith. She has worked several human services positions and currently works in higher education at the local community college in her hometown. Since January 2019, she started blogging about mental health because of her extensive years of experience working in that field.
