George Clement

Following a devastating family tragedy, I was moved to become a Listening Volunteer with a well-known charity. I have spent almost five years listening to people who are in despair and often suicidal. It has been a moving but rewarding experience.

This valuable work prompted me to write 'The Listener' a fictitious work that tells the story of Robert a Listener and his interaction with callers and his fellow volunteers. The book has been well received and has at times moved readers to tears with its stark reality of the mental anguish suffered by not only Robert's callers but The Listener himself.

Whilst writing 'The Listener' I created a character who was breath takingly beautiful to look at, but is also thoroughly ruthless and capable of murderous actions. This Vietnamese woman makes Villanelle from 'Killing Eve' look like a pussy cat. My second book 'Jade' tells her story and is a novel that my readers tell me they found hard to put down. I am working on another book set in and around my home at Burnham on Sea, Somerset. More details later.
