Deborah really loves stories, especially ones which mix fact and fantasy in a cool and interesting way. Growing up in Devon with two brothers and two sisters, she always had stories running though her head and made them into games. The falling-down outhouses in her garden housed an entire stable of imaginary horses and she was generally found walking about with at least one of her invisible companions on a leading reign! The woods on the nearby cliff were infested with sabre-toothed tigers and it was important to tiptoe past where the woolly mammoths lived in case you woke them up!
When her two daughters were growing up she made up stories for them, but it’s only recently that she’s started writing them down so other people can enjoy them too. At least, she hopes you will enjoy them!
Using imagination is such good fun – you can be anything, do anything, see anything you want. And you can invent characters and creatures and make up stories about them. You can make them happy or sad, naughty or well behaved, funny, bad tempered, forgetful – whatever you want.
