REACHING ORAL CULTURES

"All Jesus did that day was tell stories-a long, storytelling afternoon". Matt 13:34

Jim and his wife Carla write about their personal journey of storytelling the Gospel. It is shocking to realize that approximately 4.5 Billion people in the world are oral communicators, that is, they can't, don't or won't take in new information or communicate through the printed page. Yet, the vast majority of the world's Christian workers are presenting the gospel using literate communication styles. In order to effectively communicate the gospel among oral cultures we must learn more about oral communication styles. Oral cultures hear the story, memorize the story, tell the story, act the story, drum the story, sing the story, dance the story, love the story and live the story of the Gospel.
