C. J. (Chris) Cagle retired in 2018 from his job as an Enterprise Architect and IT Strategist for a large regional bank. He had previously worked in various managerial and non-managerial (technical) roles in IT for several other large financial institutions.
He currently serves as a deacon in his local church, where he heads up the stewardship ministry and does financial counseling and coaching. He also maintains a blog: RetirementStewardship.com, which is focused on financial stewardship with a focus on planning for, and living in, retirement from a Christian perspective.
In addition to writing on his blog, Chris has published articles on stewardship on The Gospel Coalition blog, Desiring God Ministries, and Radical.net.
Chris received a B.S. from Rollins College and an M.B.A. from the Florida Institute of Technology. He has done post-graduate studies in computer information systems (CIS) and theological studies.
Chris has been married for almost 50 years, has 2 grown children and 6 grandchildren. He enjoys reading, writing, hiking, fishing, playing the guitar, and spending time with his family in his free time, but especially in activities related to his church.
