Ly Vick Johnson became interested in trauma treatment as a social work intern on the inpatient unit of The Center: Posttraumatic Disorders Program in Washington, DC. The Center was also where she met her future co-authors, Joanne Zucchetto and Simone Jacobs. After graduation from social work school, Ly returned to work at The Center where she, Joanne, and Simone became close colleagues and friends. Ly has an undergraduate degree in Japanese Studies from the University of Hawai’i at Hilo, and a Master of Social Work degree from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She is now is a writer living in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
