I'm a big fan of superheroic fiction. I collected Marvel comics for twenty years, ending in 1991. I love writing about characters with superhuman abilities, but I know all about 'power creep', where the writers keep making the characters more and more powerful. I guess they think they have to keep upping the ante.

This is a disaster. You wind up with characters who a FAR too powerful, hence, boring. My approach is a bit different. I have a degree in physics and played RPGs for decades. Hence, my characters have consistent power levels.

I want to suspend my disbelief, not hang it by the neck until dead.

I am currently 63 years old, and live alone, in Section 8 housing. I have gleefully embraced a nickname given to me -- that of 'Evil Genius'.

However, it turns out that the Evil Genius biz doesn't really pay well. I still hold out hope that I will find a woman who will have me, but the odds against me are astronomical. In this world, my value as a human being is based on my bank account, so I am pretty worthless.

Oh, yeah, and buy my books. Every buck counts for me. I like to think I am a good writer (my one minion thinks so).
