Jack Almeleh, M.D. is a currently retired Board-Certified psychiatrist. For many years he practiced in Manhattan where he was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at New York Medical College. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Almeleh taught medical students and psychiatrists-in-training at both institutions. For the last 8 years of his practice Dr. Almeleh was a recipient of a Castle Connelly Award as one of the “Top Doctors” in the New York Metropolitan area.
“Finding the Right Pieces” is a book about casual relationships, friendships and romantic relationships, that was derived from the doctor's many years of observation and experience treating patients. As a cognitive-behavioral oriented psychiatrist, Dr. Almeleh developed a model for friendships and romantic relationships, that if kept in mind, can help an individual find the right people for their personal relationships and, very importantly, minimize the anxiety and sensitivity to rejection that can occur during the process of finding these people.
Among the many topics discussed in his book, is what causes a person to choose a particular individual as a friend or a romantic partner? And what can cause a person to continuously pick the wrong individual for a romantic partner – and, more importantly, what can be done to correct this problem?
Ultimately, “Finding the Right Pieces” is a self-help book for personal relationships that is designed to help people more comfortably find individuals that are specifically right for them, for a friendship or a romantic relationship.
