Singer-Songwriter/Musician – and now Debut Children’s Author – Jarrett Dean (@iamjarrettdean on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon) was born amidst the factories and farms of the Midwest. Jarrett was born with 6 fully formed fingers and 6 toes on both hands and both feet. The doctor begged his mother to not have them removed, asking “What if he plays music?!” But as any good mother always puts her child’s well-being first, she had them surgically removed in fear of him being made fun of. Now, in one of life’s biggest ironies, Jarrett has become an introspective, prolific singer-songwriter who simply loves to sing his own personal life experience original songs for the world. As his debut children’s book character Toshy says, “Music gives color to the world.” Jarrett looks at life and realizes that even without his extra digits, he still never felt like he fit in anywhere. So, here he is – with his music and with Toshy – to bring color and joy to those who are different. For those who never fit in a mold. For those who think outside the box. As he and Toshy like to say, “Why try so hard to fit in when you were meant to stand out?
