Dr. Clarence Johnson was born and raised in Magnolia, Texas. Upon graduation from high school, Dr. Johnson enrolled in Prairie View A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree in 1965. In 1972, Dr. Johnson returned to Prairie View A&M University and earned a Master of Education Degree in Guidance and Counseling. On December 13, 2008, at the age of 65, he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership. Dr. Johnson has been an educator for 47 years serving as teacher, coach, counselor, assistant principal, principal, and Director of Safe and Secure Schools for the Aldine Independent School District. He retired from education on November 30, 2011. After retirement, Dr. Johnson published three books, Managing Critical Seconds Before a School Crisis, America’s MIA (Missing in Algebra I), and Protecting America's Students at School.
Dr. Johnson is a member of Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Magnolia, Texas. Reverend Emery Berry, Jr., is his Pastor. He is married to the lovely Dr. Rhonda Swift Johnson, who retired from employment in Houston Independent School District on August 31, 2018.
