John R. Carlson Ph.D.

John Carlson teaches desktop and mobile app development at Baylor University and has a longstanding interest in software design and development. Professor Carlson has taught over a thousand students to code mobile and desktop apps using a fun, step-by-step approach. Teaching so many students has taught him what concepts are typically more challenging. As a result, his books use the most effective methods to introduce these concepts, providing clear details, relevant examples, and working demonstration apps. In addition, the chapters are filled with interactive, visual "playground" apps that help learners master concepts in a hands-on manner by bringing ideas from the page to the screen.
