As a newly promoted manager at the age of 26, he managed his first team of eight investment specialist at Scottish Widows where he experienced first-hand the challenges of managing older more experienced workers and the complexities of managing remote team members based across the UK. At 32, he established his own technology business which was later acquired, but even as a small team had a very age diverse group of employees. He went on to establish a number of other businesses and has faced numerous intergeneration challenges along the way, which have all supported his research on the subject.
He is a prolific writer and speaker on intergenerational working, retirement, and older worker business management issues, and has published several business books about inclusive culture. He is committed to developing an inclusive culture in the workplace, where people of all ages and backgrounds can thrive and contribute.
He is the Managing Director of Pension Potential, a digital at-retirement guidance and advice solution that empowers members and employees to make informed decisions about their retirement.
