Aimee Smith

Aimee Smith and her husband, Aron, are second-generation homeschoolers who live just outside Birmingham, Alabama, with their four children, Jackson, Malyn, Micah, and Caleb. They enjoy camping, swimming, hiking, and biking together. On tired evenings after a long day, you could find them snuggled on the sofa watching Wheel of Fortune or I Love Lucy.

The past eleven years of their official homeschool journey have held many surprises. One defining factor in their homeschool is their 10+ year battle with Aimee’s autoimmune disease. Another has been their family’s unexpected ministry as Aimee has been a local team leader with Classical Conversations since 2012. Aimee has learned God’s plan for her homeschool is always better than her own.

As homeschool mom to four children, Aimee lives in the daily tension between God's call to the hard work of homeschooling and His call to rest as His daughter. As a homeschool community leader, her message to moms is to receive rest by clinging to Jesus and His promise of victory. Aimee is passionate about utilizing academics as a tool for discipleship, encouraging moms to seek rest in our busy days, and seeing our culture transformed through families committed to Jesus.
