John A. Barry is an author, editor, and visual artist. Originally from New Hampshire, he has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1980. He chronicled his unusual career in the publishing world in "HARD: a Boomer's Odyssey from Hardcore in the Heartland to the Heart of Hardwareland" (2018), his 11th book as author/coauthor. He has coauthored two books, "What A Zoo!" and "Maledictionary," with his son, Sean. In 2011, he created trAction Painting, in which artists of all ages apply paint to large canvases with wheelchairs, bikes, scooters, etc. (www.traction-painting.com) He is also the author of a musical, "Pygment-alien," a parody of "My Fair Lady."
