Gary Mayer

Gary Mayer’s life as a pastor was preceded by 21 years in the business world with IBM. His final four years with the company were in London and Paris, the European headquarters of the company. This set the stage for God’s call out of that career and into full-time ministry. At age 43 he enrolled in bible college in London. Soon after graduation he and his family planted a new church in Berkshire, which he led for 19 years. The experiences and lessons learned during those years will wait for another book.

In 2012 Gary and Barb “retired” from full-time pastoring and moved to Baja, California, Mexico, at the leading of the Lord. There, doors opened to preach, teach in a bible college, and join Pastor Mike Vincent (Calvary Chapel Rosarito) and his leadership team in their 2-year church planters course, where he taught and mentored future church planters. His first book, Imitate Paul … Five Keys from the Apostle for Every Church Planter, Leader, and Believer, came from his teaching at the church planters course.

Gary has been called a pastor’s pastor. He desires to see believers living in the freedom and victory that comes from a personal revelation of the gospel of grace. His life’s calling comes from Acts 20:24, “But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”

Gary has now published four books, Imitate Paul, Paul's Gospel, Stolen Identity, and the latest, Healing Right now. Three of the books have been translated and published in Spanish.
