Gregory Petranek

Greg is a 20 year retired veteran of the U.S.Navy and now teaches Intermediate Algebra at a local community college. His passion for writing started as an undergrad at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale when he had his first authored work published in a Wiley peer reviewed journal, the " Human Resource Development Quarterly" in the summer of 2004.

Writing from life experience provides a way for me to express both the good times and bad times I have had through my life. My hope is that my readers can relate my poetry and short stories to their own life experiences for a more robust and memorable understanding of the written passages.

My passion for photography fits right in with my passion for writing and expressing myself. I have taught digital photography in the past few years. Watch for my books on digital photography that I am working on. I am rewarded for my efforts when my students approach me and say that, "I did not know there was so much to consider when taking photographs with my camera."
