Michele Handlir blends imagination, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning across every book she writes. A technology professional and graphic designer by trade, she brings a creative eye and analytical mind to her work — whether she is crafting heartfelt children's stories, compiling cherished family-ready recipes, or exploring big ideas through reflective prose.

She is the author of Mom's Ultimate Book of Recipes: Dishes from a Variety of Cuisines for Every Occasion, Dominic & the Dinosaur, Superhero! Dominic and His Baby Sister, The Girl Who Loved Math, Five More Minutes, Please!, Oh No! An Alligator Ate My Juice Box!, and Life’s Unknowns. Her forthcoming book, American Dreams, arrives in early 2026.

Michele lives in Tysons Corner, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C., where she works from home and delights in everyday inspiration—a new ingredient discovered at a local market, a café she has yet to try, or an artistic selfie captured in a moment of curiosity. When she isn’t writing, she can be found exploring farmers markets across the DMV, experimenting in her kitchen, and scouting great places to eat.
