Currently living in northeastern Tennessee, Ellen Campbell Barker was born in 1947 in Little Rock,
Arkansas. Early on, a love of reading and storytelling was instilled by her family.
With degrees in Sociology and Psychology, she worked primarily as a social worker but always harbored a desire to write a novel. Her interest in her Appalachian heritage led her to weave together legends, gossip, and speculation into a tale of complex family relations.
