He is a Stage IV cancer survivor who was given a 15% chance to live. Since his bout with cancer he has competed on two seasons of American Ninja Warrior, completed an Ironman Triathlon, won a physique competition, and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro.
He coined the phrase "Survivor's Obligation" when he watched friends with his cancer succumb to the disease. He was awarded a second chance that few had been, and he considered it his obligation to live his best life in honor of those that would have given anything to have the opportunities he had been afforded after cancer.
The Survivor's Obligation Network was created to unite survivors of all manners of struggle to highlight their commitment to living intentionally.
