After 40 years of Gateway City winters, I put everything I needed in my jeep, drove for 2 days, and dropped myself off in the middle of the desert. I'm still here and I have never been happier. It's amazing how much the weather affects your mood. It's also amazing how much you can get accomplished when you don't own a TV!!!

MY PROGRESS:

I have written my first book on the topic I know most about, Blackjack. "Where Voodoo Meets Advantage Play" is an instruction manual with autobiographical tendencies for new and experienced players. If you have never played, or hardly played, you can learn everything you need to know from the rules and procedures, through basic strategy, and even how to count cards. Parting ways with the typical card counting advantage player, the book offers a strategy that evolved from negative bet progressions, otherwise known as types of "voodoo" strategies. As you read about some of the stress I have endured as an advantage player, you will realize what drove me to seek an alternative strategy that doesn't ignore the math, but also considers the psychological effects of long losing streaks and being barred from the game.

I am extremely grateful to those of you who bought my first book, "Where Voodoo Meets Advantage Play." I know that many of you who bought it are not interested in Blackjack, or not as passionate about it as I am, but you bought the book to support me. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that. You have helped encourage me to continue in this process.

For me, this is not just about making money, but it’s also about learning, doing something fulfilling, expressing myself, and connecting with the world. I’m expanding my horizons and exploring a different genre that I think more of you will be able to relate to. Not everyone will like it, so certainly don’t feel obligated if it doesn’t seem appealing. But you can preview some sections for free to see if you think you will like it. My second book, a work of Philosophical Fiction, is a tribute to a small-town legend. But don't worry, you don't have to be from Dupo, IL to appreciate it. Although it's spiced with perverse imagination, the underlying theme of "Adventures at Dean’s Barbershop" is sound. The book contains some humor that may be a bit strong for the easily offended, but I have used the three main characters to express different phases of evolution to spiritual enlightenment. The narrator encounters a series of important life lessons on his mission to get a simple haircut to make himself look better. Using fiction in this way helps convey the overall message that, while the destination may set us in motion, the journey is the essence of life.
