Fran Quittel

Fran Quittel is an accomplished author and board member of the Women’s National Book Association - SF Chapter. Splitting her time between New York and San Francisco, her delightful children’s book, The Central Park Lost Mitten Party, celebrates the rich history and beautiful architecture of America’s first urban public park, the setting for a wonderful nighttime party for everything we lose. Fran's workshops for young people and their grown-ups are based on artistic inspiration ~ “Lost and Found in Central Park: Creating Art from Reusables". Some of her efforts can be seen at Sun Gallery, the Emeryville Celebration of the Arts, and New York City's Department of Cultural Affairs' Materials for the Arts "Third Thursdays".

Fran volunteers as an Ambassador for the Frances Perkins Center. She has created a series of in-depth library programs and panel events about Frances Perkins, the first American woman selected for the United States Cabinet by FDR.

Fran is also a non-fiction author whose grassroots efforts successfully restored $270 million to 10,000 bank depositors by adding an amendment to the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Her non-fiction books include FirePower! (10 Speed Press), Job Search Smarts and several career guides for Prentice Hall.
