Rachel Power

Former Actress, check CV on IMBd, went on to attain first class honours in English and plan to write horror books. Also an avid astronomer so my books will definitely contain sci fi elements as a huge fan of these genres. Will shortly be releasing a series of short horror stories with a view to writing full length novels. Have released this book as a guide for students of English and academics who are avid fans of English Literature and to provide inspiration to those writing degrees in these modules. Particular interests in horror are the Supernatural, particularly vampires and cite Dracula and Salem's Lot as the greatest novels written on this subject. I take my inspiration from novelists such as Stephen King and M R James and am also very interested in Gothic Literature. I consider myself an expert in the Horror Genre from many years of reading and watching films on this subject starting at age 7! Count Yorga Vampire was my first horror film! In terms of horror films, I consider The Exorcist to be the greatest of all time in terms of subject matter, cinematography and performances. I also have an avid interest in Greek Mythology as this was the first subject that caught my attention as a child.

A fun anecdote for you; as well as acting in a number of roles on stage and television for a number of years, I am also a winner of the Weakest Link! Amusingly, I played Mary Garth in Middlemarch then went on to study the book at Degree Level.
