Marjorie H Morgan

Marjorie H Morgan, born 1960, is a writer, playwright, and journalist with special interest in cultural and social politics.

She was born in Wiltshire to Jamaican migrant parents who had travelled to the Mother County in the 1950s.

As a playwright she was short-listed for the International 15th Windsor Fringe Kenneth Branagh Award for New Drama Writing – 2018: Let Them Eat Cake.

She is also a co-author of Sharing the Past, a book that has been collectively authored and edited by members of the Northamptonshire Black History Association (2008). It presents an overview of Northamptonshire’s connections to the wider world, and especially to Africa, the Caribbean and the Indian subcontinent.

She has an academic background in research having worked as a Research Assistant at the Oxford University School of Geography and the Environment.

In 2018 she was a Writer-in-Residence for the Liverpool Independents Biennial Arts Festival (2018), and her work has been displayed at Tate, Liverpool.

Her fiction, poetry and scripts have been published in five anthology collections (2018), including two independently published volumes of prose and poetry. She also teaches creative writing, and oral history research techniques.

She has been published locally, nationally, and internationally with both her creative and critical writings.
