My book is based in the true story of the hunt for two Generals of the short lived English republic who fled to Massachusetts. In 1649 Generals Whalley and Goffe sat on the jury that tried King Charles 1 of Great Britain for treason against his own people and had him executed. The Monarchy was abolished and a Puritan republic established. But it fell, and the son of the executed King returned and the Generals fled for their lives to Boston. The new King sent one man, Baron John Belasyse, across the ocean to kill them before they tried to start a rebellion there. Meticulously researched with five visits to the United States and based on documented events, every person is real, this book will explain the move to the Declaration of Independence.
