Thank you for stopping by. Yes, it's true: authors love nothing more than talking about themselves, but what should we do? It’s Author Central, right? Hold that thought, because I don’t want to be a bore and I have a thriller to promote: The Guard’s Watch. Here’s the dilemma: do I regale you with anecdotes from my dubious past? For example, that time when, as a sound engineer, I asked Nigel Kennedy of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons fame, if his jazz ensemble had a violin player. What about Pink Floyd’s road manager calling up to buy sound equipment, only to have the phone answered by my grandmother? She had mistaken him for the plumber.

First up is Permissive Ink, a gripping psychological thriller set in London and Spain. I hate the term ‘gripping’ but there are only so many superlatives. It is character-driven fiction and tells the story of Danek, an investigative journalist. He loves music and cats but is socially awkward. He is, however, good at his job, perhaps a little too good as trouble always seems to find him.

The sequel is The Guard’s Watch, which explores what happens when a psychopath tries to kill everyone close to him for no obvious reason. It is a Kafkaesque train journey to Hell, so stand by for more murder, intrigue, and a plot twist that will defy even the most ardent sleuth.

With so much to choose from, I urge you to try these books. Enjoy them for what they are: a window into lives lived under a cosmic bubble. Failing that, you could wait for Christopher Nolan to finish reading my screenplay. In all modesty, I appreciate your attention and offer these works with Oscar-winning humility.
