Pamela Pitman Brown

Dr. Pamela Pitman Brown is a professor of sociology/gerontology and has taught at numerous universities over the past decade. She came to the academic game late in life and did not get her master's or PhD until her 40s, graduating with her PhD six weeks before her 50th birthday! Before her academic career she had a wide variety of work experiences including designing car stereo systems, owning a car detailing business, working as a barista, working in an auto glass shop, selling newspaper advertising, and selling/installing cable television and internet! She was also an elementary school teacher and a middle school coach!

She is a mom of six (two steps, two adopted, and two biological), with the youngest being 8 year old twins. Pam is also an adopted child and has tons of writings that she will eventually get around to publishing!
