I am just a regular guy, who has been turning more and more into a cranky old man since January 20, 2016. I am a 64-year-old white male. I grew up in a very middle-class Jewish family with five kids in a 3-bedroom house in the Midwest. I studied business at the University of Minnesota.
I am not a professional author, writer, journalist, professor, speaker or anyone of note. I have never held political office or even been involved in it in any way. I have no particular qualifications, credentials or achievements. My screen name could be Mediocre Mike. But the one qualification I do have is that I am an American citizen, I have a functioning brain, and I care enough about this house we all live in to say something when I see water pouring in from everywhere. My only possible claims to fame would be that I am an Eagle Scout, I once earned the “Most Improved Average” trophy in my bowling league, and oh yeah, I was co-recipient of Time Magazine’s Person of the Year in 2006. How many people actually just looked this up to verify it? (See, it’s true).
I consider myself a Moderate, but apparently, according to the definition, Moderates do not have a specific political ideology, other than they are neither far-left nor far-right. That sounds way too wishy-washy for me, as I am not a wishy-washy person. If I had to choose though, I’d say I lean more to the wishy than the washy. You know, the “dreaming things that never were and asking why not” sort of thing.
