Brian “BJ” Condike originally hail from New England, but after spending a quarter century in North Texas he now resides in Big Pine Key, just spitting distance from Key West. BJ’s favorite genres are mystery and science fiction.
BJ minored in English while pursuing a BS in chemistry at UMass Amherst, and later earned his MBA. Most recently he graduated from The Writers Path at Southwestern Methodist University in Dallas.
BJ loves writing short stories and has won several regional contests. He also placed in the top 1% in two national contests by Writers Digest, each with over 2,000 entries. His short stories have appeared in several anthologies, including Strange & Sweet (2019), Malice in Dallas – Metroplex Mysteries Volume 1 (2022), and Tall Tales and Timeless Stories (2022).
BJ spent ten years acting and directing in community theater, and thinks realistic dialogue is key to a good story. “When you’re on stage,” he says, “dialogue is all you have.”
