George Collord

George Collord was born in the surfer's paradise of Newport Beach, California, but he spent his youth in the ultra-rural logging community of Happy Camp, California. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business Management at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Later, he dropped out of the University of San Diego School of Law to help make sparkling wine in the Napa Valley, sell funeral plots in Sacramento, and repossess cars in Nevada. Finally, he found his true calling, police work. He spent over thirty years in law enforcement as a patrolman, a violent crimes detective, a sexual assault and child abuse detective, a street gang/prison gang investigator, a Special Deputy United States Marshal working on an undercover FBI task force, and a trainer/lecturer on street gangs and prison gangs for law enforcement groups nationwide. He now resides in California’s picturesque Siskiyou County, the place he grew up, with his family, two dogs, and a cat. He's just finished Let Sleeping Ghosts Lie, the sequel to The Devil Danced on Church Street, itself the sequel to Hear the Wind Blow. He is currently at work on the fourth book in the Karuk County Mystery series..
