G.G. Knoth

An introvert who finds her powerful voice on the page, G.G. Knoth has a raw and unabashed writing style that drags emotions kicking and screaming out of her readers. With a message of hope for the hurting and a convicting call to action for change for our society, she dives headfirst into dark and complex subject matter verse by verse.

Her second poetry collection, Pain Is My Spirit Animal, explores the human experience of pain from four perspectives: mind, body, heart, and soul. From mental illness to heartbreak, chronic illness to spiritual struggles, each poem explores the pain we can’t avoid or the self-inflicted suffering.

Her bestselling debut poetry collection, Whisper Screaming in the Middle of a Crowded Room, takes a fierce and unapologetic look at the stigma of mental illness in our society, calling each of us to greater compassion and understanding for ourselves and one another. Her subsequent books, Pain is My Spirit Animal and Watering Plastic Flowers, have also made the Amazon bestsellers list.

G.G. Knoth is a fierce advocate for mental health. A professional writer for almost thirty years, she maintains a private practice as an Acupuncture Physician and holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Christian Counseling. She lives on a small farm in South Florida with her husband, their two daughters, pampered cats, a grouchy chihuahua, a tortoise, and some seriously spoiled honeybees, chickens, and ducks.
