Dr. Adam Perzynski is a sociologist and tenured Professor of Medicine in the Population Health Research Institute and the Center for Health Care Research and Policy at MetroHealth and Case Western Reserve University. He joined the MetroHealth faculty in 2008. He has more than 200 presentations at scientific meetings and more than 100 peer-reviewed publications crossing many disciplines. He has edited two books on health disparities and co-authored a book on structural equation modeling. Dr. Perzynski's work represents a career long effort to infuse the study of biomedical scientific problems with the knowledge, theories and methods of social science. His current work is focused on examining the specific mechanisms through which social factors influence health and clinical care. He has recently directed local efforts to demonstrate for how neighborhood data and neighborhood resources can be positioned to improve health outcomes.
