Sally Coffey is a journalist and travel writer living in London. As the author of Moon Scotland, and Moon Edinburgh, Glasgow & the Isle of Skye, she often finds herself getting up early to watch the sunrise on empty beaches, or seeking out hidden corners of cities. She has trekked in wind and rain to deserted villages where the ghosts of cleared communities could still be felt and met many a memorable character in pubs as welcoming as her mammy's house. She also discovered that while Scotland is undoubtedly a place of adventure, you don’t have to climb a mountain to experience sheer exhilaration. Sometimes just navigating the winding cliff-hugging roads or finding an out-of-the-way campsite that eludes your satnav can be just as thrilling.
