Debra Lambrecht, Founder, Caulbridge Education
Since 1981, Ms. Lambrecht has worked with schools and youth leaders to influence positive change in the way we meet the needs of children. Debra has provided professional development training, along with strategic and organizational consulting for hundreds of schools and youth organizations across the country; and has served as School Director of a private preschool through 8th grade. As founder of Caring About Kids, she created a unique mentor program that was replicated throughout the United States; and authored several youth development publications including training manuals that became required text for CA State University Master’s counseling program. Ms. Lambrecht’s innovative program models have been recognized as exemplary by United Way, National Public Radio, and Rotary International. Debra has also had the privilege of representing Rotary International while presenting her work at the United Nations International Youth Strategies Summit.
In a culmination of her, work Debra is compelled to redesign an education for our time. “We understand more about brain science and child development than ever before. In spite of the extensive research and experience, our current school system remains locked into an outdated education paradigm.”
Caulbridge education began as a desire to step back, and to answer the more fundamental questions: “What is an ideal education for our time, for the children before us today? How can we break the cycle of dysfunction? Could we start with an intention to raise happy, healthy children?” Finding the answer to these questions within both, current research and collective wisdom, the first school was opened in Marin, California as part of a larger social mission to build a network of Caulbridge Schools.
