Nicky Brookes

Nicky Brookes is a children’s author and illustrator based in the West Midlands, England. Since beginning his creative journey in 2019, Nicky has dedicated himself to writing "calm stories for cozy evenings."

Drawing deep inspiration from his life as a foster carer, Nicky’s stories are often sparked by the wild, boundless imaginations and games of the children in his care. He understands that while children love adventure, they also need safe, quiet spaces to rest their minds. His works, including the Oliver Rabbit, Coco Crab and Barnaby Sloth collections, focus on mindfulness, nature, and gentle pacing to help young readers wind down. Nicky looks forward to seeing what future inspiration the children bring to his next peaceful tale.
