Diana Eden is a dancer, actress, and three-time Emmy-nominated costume designer for such classic TV shows as The Facts of Life, Santa Barbara, and A League of Their Own, to name just a few. This remarkable multi-faceted woman also created costumes for such legends as Betty White, Dixie Carter, George Clooney, Anjelica Huston, and Cloris Leachman, as well as younger stars Kaley Cuoco and Alyson Hannigan.
Her first memoir, "Stars in Their Underwear" recounts the full story of her life starting with her early career as a promising ballerina, and moving through her appearances as dancer/actress in three major Broadway shows in the glorious ’60s, her personal struggles in the free-spirited ‘70s to her apprenticeship in the ’80s with designer Bob Mackie which led to her own 30 year career in costume design. She shares with us her depths of insecurity but also the euphoria of being witness to some of the 20th century’s most iconic moments…a Presidential Inauguration Gala, the filming of the original movie The Producers, the Diana Ross Concert In Central Park, the show Jubilee and the fatal MGM fire of 1980.
Along the way, there are appearances by the likes of Tony Danza, Debra Messing, Ann-Margret, Carol Burnett, and any more.
Eden's wit and a keen sense of observation from the backstage point of view, whether on Broadway or just off-camera in TV and films provides the readers with an up-close vision of how a shy girl from bomb-torn England can end up interacting with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
