Adam Brock

I wrote my memoir, Making Beds in Brothels, as a result of finding a lack of books I could relate to that spoke of my experience of sexual exploitation, my struggles and my spiritual awaking after the fact. I wanted to produce something that didn't hide away from the realities of that life, and that meant exploring all facets of my experience rather than focusing only on the negatives, our lives are rarely clean cut and uncomplicated. I sincerely hope my book provides what I was searching for and failing to find, for someone else. If my experience provides hope for someone in need, then I will consider everything I suffered, worthwhile. When I am not struggling with my thesis, I enjoy my dog, cooking, books and gardening. If that sounds retired and boring, it is. I have lived five lives already and I'm not yet 40! I hope in the upcoming years to devote more time to God, pilgrimage and family.
