Don R. Kabrich

Don R. Kabrich - was born and raised in California. He moved to Northwest Washington where he joined the Army at Eighteen and served three years in support of the United States Army Europe Command (USAREUR) in Heidelberg, Germany and at the Combat Development Experiment Center (CDEC) at Fort Hunter Liggett, California. Following his enlistment, Don attended San Jose State University and earned a bachelors degree in Behavioral Science, concentrating on psychology, anthropology, and sociology. Throughout this period Don remained in the military until re-entering active duty and the US Army Special Forces in 1995. After successful completion of training, Don was awarded the military occupational specialty (MOS) of Special Forces Engineer Sergeant, specializing in combat dive operations. His next eighteen years were spent deploying to places like Haiti, Thailand, Pakistan, Kenya, Yemen, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, U.A.E, Iraq, and Kurdistan. He retired in 2013 where he pursued and completed a three year Master's degree program and four year Doctorate program. Don, his wife Karen, and two children moved from Fort Campbell, Kentucky to Florida surrounding this retirement date. Don has been traveling extensively to locations such as Nepal and Mount Everest, Peru and Machu Picchu, Assam, India near the Bhutan border, Ecuador, Croatia, Japan, Thailand, and Abu Dhabi. Lastly, he has returned from Europe. Most recently, however, Don climbed Mount Everest onto the South Summit. Don is the author of eight books. Always advocating for veterans, Don regularly speaks at events and volunteers his time to help when and where he can.
