Colin Macpherson

I was born in Australia but I have lived a good portion of my life in other countries. I have worked as a physicist, a farmer, a boatbuilder, a teacher, a research fellow, an aid worker, and a recording artist.

My first novel, 'The Tide Turners' arose from my concern about the exponential growth of the human population, and the dire effect this would ultimately have on the planet...still a huge issue. Next came 'The Holy Well'. Based on a blend of personal experiences, extensive research, and deep thoughts about the nature of existence, this novel is, I think,...significant. My third novel, 'The Boatbuilder's Nose' was an adventurous project for me. I wanted to capture the language that is common among tradies (tradespeople) in Australia to tell a story that explores the repercussions of an unusual 'gift'.

The energy I put into my books and other publications is now mainly focused on my music. My eighth album, 'Really Quite Small' (actually an EP) was released in August, 2023. The songs I write are often inspired by the same themes that underpin my novels ('Remembering The Holy Well' is directly linked to the book). You can find all my music here on Amazon, or you can stream it on other services such as Spotify. Books and/or music -- I hope there's something of mine that you find worthwhile.
