Douglas G. Wren

DOUGLAS G. WREN was born in Gary, Indiana and lived in Canton, Ohio and Danville, Illinois before moving with his family to Atlanta, Georgia when he was 11 years old. Doug attended Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio and the University of Georgia (UGA), where he earned his bachelor's degree. Doug subsequently moved to Richmond, Virginia and received a master's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Back in Atlanta, Doug found his true calling in the education profession. During the years he taught elementary school with the DeKalb County School District (DCSD), Doug took classes at UGA. In 2000, he was awarded a doctorate in elementary education. Doug's interests in test anxiety and educational measurement led to his development of the Children's Test Anxiety Scale (CTAS), published in 2004. The CTAS has been used around the world by hundreds of practitioners and researchers in the fields of counseling, education, and psychology.

After teaching for 14 years, Doug took a job as research specialist with DCSD's Department of Research & Evaluation; he later became director of the department. Doug moved back to Virginia in 2008 to work as educational measurement & assessment specialist with Virginia Beach City Public Schools. He is also an assistant adjunct instructor at Old Dominion University in Norfolk.
