Alan J Sears has been writing all his life. Magazine articles on everything from riding horses to shipping hazardous goods, short stories and longer fiction, an account of racing around the world - and through the Southern Ocean - on the BT Global Challenge yacht race, and most recently, inspired by his working life, a series of business fables.
Alan has worked with managers and leaders in practically every commercial sector, in local government and the NHS, in other parts of the UK public sector, and on six of the seven continents. He has interviewed and coached hundreds of CEOs, from those leading global organisations to family-owned SMEs and start-ups.
Beginning with The Six Conversations of a Brilliant Manager his series of business fables is intended to distil a lifetime of teaching and learning into easy-to-read stories with true to life characters set in realistic environments.
He lives in leafy Surrey, and besides writing continues to consult and coach. He also likes to drink wine, play the guitar and drive about in old cars (but not at the same time).
